role will remain essential to day to day business. A change in leadership may result.

Responsibilities

• Principal Security Architect and subject matter expert.
• Provide Security Architecture assurance for new terrestrial communications solutions.
• For new network and telecommunications solutions, review, approve and recommend security
  components of solution documentation, such as SED, SAD, HLD, DD.
• Assure design of network and telecommunication services comply to Defence security standards
  and security policies.
• Provide reporting.
• Manage associated risks and issues.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated experience (minimum 5 years or more) and or qualifications in: cyber security and
  or architecture (security)
• Demonstrated experience assessing Defence technical artefacts for telecommunications and
  networks with a security lens
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Defence environment
• Demonstrated experience in complex problem solving in relation to cyber security
• Demonstrated stakeholder engagement skills and communications skills.

Role status: Existing position. Additional positions required
This role is suited to the skillsets of either of the SFIA skillsets of a SINT / NTDS. You must nominate
which skillset you are applying for under this position. It must be one or the other.

Responsibilities

• Deliver network architecture assurance for Defence terrestrial communications.
• Assure design of network and telecommunication services align to Defence enterprise
  architecture, meet Defence ICT standards and comply to Defence frameworks and security
  policies.
• For network and telecommunications solutions, review and recommend technical solution
  documentation, such as SED, SAD, HLD, DD.
• Engagement with Defence Engineering and vendors to problem shoot and remediate risk.
• Weekly reporting and advisory as required to the Director

Desired Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated experience (minimum 5 years or more) and or qualifications in: network
  engineering and architecture
• Demonstrated experience assessing technical artefacts for telecommunications and networks
• Desirable knowledge of the Defence environment
• Stakeholder engagement skills and communications skills.

Reports to: Improvement Initiative Program Manager; and Director DTCS

Role Status: Existing position.
This role is suited to the skillsets of either of the SFIA skillsets of a SINT / NTDS. You must nominate
which skillset you are applying for under this position. It must be one or the other.

Responsibilities

• Principal Engineer and subject matter expert.
• Lead and or provide senior Architecture Assurance for terrestrial communications solutions
  including transition into service
• Assure design of network and telecommunication services align to Defence enterprise
  architecture, meet Defence ICT standards and comply to Defence frameworks and security
  policies.
• Assure design of network and telecommunication services align to agreed contract deliverables
  and roadmaps.
• Provide Engineering Management.
• Lead a team of technical resources.
• Provide reporting.
• Manage risks and issues.

It should be noted this role at some stage may merge with another team of technical resources and the
leadership functions may change, however, the senior technical assurance element remains a necessity
at the NTDS / SINT6 level.

Experience and Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience (minimum 5 years or more) and or qualifications in: network
  engineering and architecture
• Demonstrated experience managing a technical project delivery team
• Demonstrated experience assessing Defence technical artefacts for telecommunications and
  networks
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Defence Terrestrial Communications Network
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and communications skills.

Reports to: EL2 Director

Role status: New position. It should be noted this role is potential for an APS conversion within 6-12
months.

Responsibilities

• Implement the Operations Plan to support governance and assurance DTCS has over connectivity
  and collaboration services supporting Defence.
• Lead a team of technical service managers, security officer and technical assurance team (TBC)
• Engage with ETOB leadership to drive TC strategic alignment, roadmap alignment and service
  improvement.
• Oversee assurance of TC solutions security, availability and optimisation.
• Ensure TC alignment to ETOB DAAR and ETOB Teams.
• Assure TC system continuity aligns to ETOB and Defence Business Continuity Planning.
• Support new capability transitioning to TC BAU Operations (Transition in Service (TiS)

Role Status: Existing position. This is a high pressure role overseeing key initiative delivery with a high
level of vendor and stakeholder engagement. The role requires a good degree of adaptability and
comfortability with ongoing organisational change.

Responsibilities

• Lead Project and Technical Leads to drive the delivery of network and telecommunications
  initiatives.
• Resolving challenges and issues in timely manner
• Executive reporting and presentations.
• Engage with vendor and stakeholders on performance of contract.
• Drive vendor to deliver new network and telecommunications solutions as per agreed contract.
• Engage with Defence stakeholders on program delivery and risks.
• Work with key Defence partners, Defence stakeholders, Capability Managers and Enablers to
  drive the delivery of new network and telecommunications solutions.

Role Status: New position. This is a newly established role that will support day to day business of
service operations and drive a high level of operations knowledge via service assurance.

Responsibilities

• Service Assurance of network and telecommunication services.
• Assure design and delivery of network and telecommunication services, ensuring alignment to
  Defence architecture.
• Provide technical assurance and reporting over: Asset and License Management, Service
  Configuration Management, Performance & Capacity Management, Availability Management,
  Monitoring and Event Management.
• Monitor and report on key services.
• Technical Service Risks and Issues Management.
• Assure service providers and solutions comply with Defence policies.
• Monitor and drive continuous Improvement and Innovation.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of IT judgement to provide expert advice
• Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the ICT networking & telecommunication function
• Demonstrated experience in managing and or engaging with vendors / supply chain

Responsibilities

• Provide senior security advisor advice to the Director and senior executive as required
• Assess all new network and telecommunications solutions against the ISM/DSPF and recommend
  solutions for Defence ICT security authorisation.
• Work to the Defence ICT security team managing the security authorisation program of work for
  new network and telecommunications solutions.
• Report, where required on the network and telecommunications Authority to Operate (ATO)
• program.
• Vendor and stakeholder engagement to drive strategic security outcomes
• May be required to manage a small team in the future, currently required to collaborate with
  Defence security assessment team.

Desired Skills and Experience

• 5 years demonstrated experience in IT Security, IT Architecture.
• Demonstrated ability to perform a subject matter expert role.

  briefings.
